Located in the warmer climate of the south Texas hill country near New Braunfels, this incredible destination for our intensive programs takes place at the amazing Gruene River Hotel and Retreat Center. It is a fabulous resort with spectacular accommodations and plenty of relaxing amenities, in which our clients are able to enjoy time away, be in a comfortable environment, and strengthen their life and relationships. The Gruene River Hotel can be found right along the Guadalupe River in Gruene Texas just doors down from the famous Gruene Hall where George Strait and Willie Nelson got their start at the legendary Gristmill restaurant. This wonderful opportunity to have your personalized individual or family intensive program here is available from December 1st – March 15th each year. You’ll get everything our intensive program has to offer, including our experiential counseling opportunities, our life skills education, emotional support tools, relationship-building techniques, and spiritual support.

Texas Intensive Facilitator
Steve Leavitt, MA
Steve is a Christian Counselor specializing in marriage with over 20 years of experience. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling. He spent 13 years at Denton Bible Church working with and under Tommy Nelson. Steve has a book co-authored and published with Tommy Nelson, entitled “Walking on Water When You Feel Like You’re Drowning”.
Steve was host of “Hope for Life” a live call in counseling radio show. He also speaks often on the issues of Marriage, Parenting, Grief, Fear, Anxiety and Depression. He is a highly sought after speaker and has spoken to thousands through training seminars at churches to giver people real solutions to today’s most pressing issues.

Finances
You may pay by credit/debit card, cash, check or money order and a minimum 25% non-refundable deposit is due to register with the remaining balance due by your start date. We also offer a payment plan option in which 50% is due by your intensive start date and the remaining portion is paid monthly with a 1% aggregate fee for each proceeding month (i.e. 5 months = 5% fee). We also have scholarships to help those in need that you can apply for here.
Schedule
Sessions are 2.5 hours long. Morning session starts between 9am – 10am and afternoon session starts between 1pm – 2pm. (Note: this is our typical schedule. Some adjustments can be made to accommodate travel arrangements.)
Preparation
An interview and questionnaire are completed beforehand by each willing participant to assist you and our team in preparing and customizing your intensive.
Follow-ups
Follow-up sessions are included as part of your intensive program and are conducted remotely as needed. These are an important part of us continuing to help you succeed. Ongoing counseling is also an option for clients after their program is completed.
Testing Evaluations
We offer our clients 3 different testing evaluations to assess personality, clinical and/or relational matters. These help our clients learn more about themselves and their family dynamics and they also bring valuable information to our intensive team as we prepare and customize your program.
